Senior IT Cloud Engineer
Duration: FTE / PERM (salary + bonus)

We are seeking a Senior IT Engineer (Cloud Engineering) to join our client’s IT Infrastructure team. The Senior IT Engineer position will report to the Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure. The position can be remote, or a hybrid role based in South San Francisco. This critical role will be focused on maturing the organization’s cloud-based technology and infrastructure, providing technical recommendations, develop solutions, lead implementation, and provide maintenance/administration of the organization’s growing cloud infrastructure. This role will have the opportunity to drive and influence the IT strategy/goals and help deliver solutions that will help scale the company as they grow globally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • In partnership with the Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure, assist with building and supporting cloud infrastructure initiatives to scale with a rapidly growing global workforce
  • Provide support of Azure and AWS cloud environments
  • Knowledge of best practice principles for building and supporting scalable and secure cloud infrastructure
  • Participate in executing on an IT strategy that upends the established on-premise data center environment and results in a shift to a Cloud-native solution architecture model
  • Manage and support both Windows and Linux-based servers across cloud environments
  • Assist with Tier 3 level incident and problem support
  • Advanced troubleshooting of end-user and system issues
  • Collaborate cross functionally with other teams and peers to achieve IT objectives including responsibility of deliverables which may be a part of other domains, projects, and activities
  • Experienced with introducing process improvement via automation
  • Oversee vendor work quality and productivity
  • Develop, create, and maintain architectural diagrams, documentation, runbooks for employees, for other team members and for the IT department

  • BA/BS in computer science, management information systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates analytical skills, problem solving, initiative, judgment, decision making and writing ability
  • A minimum of five (5+) years of progressively increasing responsibility and achievement in Information Technology
  • 2+ years of experience administrating core AWS and Azure computing, storage, and networking services
  • Senior level network administration experience in both private and public cloud environments, preferably in AWS and Azure.
  • Experienced with migration infrastructure to cloud platform(s)
  • Any relevant AWS and Azure certification/s
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
