Our direct client is looking for a highly skilled multi-disciplined individual with IT Infrastructure and Operation management skills to join us as a lead Infrastructure engineer on-site. This person will be working in a fast-paced environment on a diverse set of technologies like Azure, Aruba, Sophos Firewall, crowdstrike and Nutanix to name a few. The ideal candidate would have expertise in hybrid platforms (cloud and on-prem), networking, virtualization, and security.
Job Responsibilities include:
Lead infrastructure projects
Maintaining current infrastructure solutions, performing and overseeing new build outs.
Configuring, debugging, and supporting multiple infrastructure platforms, primarily Windows
Developing, installing, maintaining, and supporting infrastructure, hardware, and system software components
Provide advice to the engineering team regarding the appropriate hardware and/or software to ensure that their computer systems meet their needs.
Evaluate client systems for effectiveness, make recommendations regarding the scalability of such systems, and troubleshoot any problems that arise during the use of the system
Performing high-level root cause analyses for service interruption recovery and creating preventative measures
Providing high-level and hands-on support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, hubs, bridges, and routers
Provide routine maintenance of clients' systems such as system backups, system and network monitoring, server deployment, and performing updates
Collaborating with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on project implementations, optimizations, and ongoing management
Create and maintain documentation and detailed sets of instructions for level 1 and 2 and Engineering team.
Be open to occasional after-hours and weekend work, if necessary, and being on-call.
Familiarity with using Atlassian JIRA or similar tools to log, track and resolve infrastructure tickets/issues
Education and Experience Requirements:
5+ years Microsoft Windows server, AD and systems experience
3+ years AWS, Azure IaaS, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Networking
3+ years leading infrastructure projects
3+ years cybersecurity related work
5+ years of level 3 support engineering
3+ years providing exceptional customer service.
Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect
Professional Skills Required:
Cloud: Solid understanding of Azure Cloud
OSes: Advanced Knowledge of Windows servers, Linux OS, VMware Horizon/vCenter, Azure/Windows Server environment and Docker
Scripting: Good PowerShell scripting skills
Virtualization: Knowledge of vSphere, Nutanix, or Hyper-V (CLI as well as GUI)
Networking: Solid understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting skills
Security: Excellent knowledge of security concepts, IAM, VPN, and Sophos firewalls
Cybersecurity: Able to execute remediate recommendations per assessment reports and act as liaison of SIEM and MDR vendors. Lead implementation of zero trust security architecture.
Backup and Recovery: experience with backup and DR systems such as Nutanix, Veeam and cloud site recovery
Troubleshooting: ability to troubleshoot problems solo and deliver solutions within a reasonable timeframe
Analytical Skills: Be able to look at complicated systems to find flaws or room for improvement
Attention to Detail: Must be able to ensure system compatibility and integration
Leadership Skills: Be able to take ownership of various projects from conception to close, managing resources, timelines, deliverables, and planning
Organizational Skills: Must be able to stay on top of multiple support tasks, while keeping any ongoing projects up to date.
Teamwork: Be able to work well on a team, while remaining focused and thorough when working alone
Communication Skills: Must be able to relay information to clients in an easy-to-understand, approachable way and have a good understanding of various technical terminology and concepts
MSP: Experience working with multiple managed services providers.
Mobile Devices: Knowledge of MDM platforms & similar solutions.
Firewall: Sophos and Palo Alto firewalls and VPN tunnels management
Endpoint management: Experience working with Intune and Jamf
