Principle Network Engineer - (Part Time)

Part-time Contract role (approx. 5-10 hours per week)

Client company is located in Palo Alto, CA 94304
 
We are seeking a very senior level candidate preferably someone who has worked for a big tech company like Google, Meta or Apple. Our Biotech client is in (Phase 3) clinical stage. This company’s network team is trying to gain experience in best practices in networking and they want this person to train them and diagnose issues they’re having.
 
Environment:
They have a blend of Cisco, Maraki, Juniper and Ubiquity.  Specific products aren’t as important and in-depth network experience and ability.
 
Hoping to find someone who will be able to schedule calls to help them with problems and can come on-site for the first few visits until they are familiar with their network, and then after that it will be all remote work. If already working full-time, candidate might need to schedule training calls after 5pm, and that is OK with them.
 
During the interview, the manager will ask them about Veland, Wireshark, how to do packet inspection, Spanning Tree, SNMP, Static routes, DHCT, Access and trunk ports, and network architecture overall. They use cloud infrastructure, both AWS and Azure.
